DESCRIPTION

 

Training of specialists with managerial competencies in the field of transport and logistics services for effective performance in the dynamically developing transport and communication sector of the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The program forms “broad-profile” logistics specialists capable of managing complex supply chains. Special emphasis is placed on the development of experimental research, analytical, and managerial competencies corresponding to the doctoral level.

Students master modern digital technologies and modeling methods to solve strategic industry problems. Graduates are highly qualified researchers and managers capable of developing and implementing innovative solutions in the transport and logistics system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

  • LO1 – Integrate principles of critical analysis and synthesis of information, demonstrating proficiency in various styles and formats of academic writing
  • LO2 – Organize scientific research using research methodology and analyze obtained data to formulate substantiated conclusions
  • LO3 – Develop conceptual and mathematical models of logistics systems and analyze modeling results to optimize logistics processes
  • LO4 – Develop strategic plans for logistics development considering the specifics of the digital economy and evaluate their effectiveness in a dynamic environment
  • LO5 – Assess the potential of innovative technologies for improving supply chain management and develop strategies for their implementation
  • LO6 – Synthesize knowledge to develop substantiated proposals for strategic logistics management using innovative technologies in the digital economy

Graduates are oriented towards practical and managerial activities and can occupy the following positions:

  • Supply Chain Director
  • Head of Logistics and Infrastructure Projects
  • Logistics and Operations Efficiency Consultant
  • Logistics Systems Analyst and Architect
  • Senior/Top-level Logistics Manager
  • International Logistics and Foreign Trade Expert
  • Head of Functional Logistics Areas (transport, warehousing, procurement, distribution, inventory management, S&OP)

Graduates are high-level professionals capable of making strategic decisions and managing complex logistics systems in national and international companies.

The training is practice- and research-oriented and includes:

  • Modular learning focused on solving real industry problems and cases
  • Project-based work (individual and team projects)
  • Scientific and analytical activities, including applied research and publications
  • Use of digital tools for decision-making and justification
  • Industry integration: participation in company projects, internships, contract research
  • Preparation of a doctoral dissertation with practical relevance

– Educational and research laboratories equipped with real models of logistics processes, allowing experimental modeling of supply chains, traffic flows and warehouse systems.

– Digital simulation environments and software systems used for the analysis and optimization of logistics systems.

– Case labs and design studios, including practical cases on supply chain management, digital flows and “warehouses of the future” using innovative technologies.

– Access to industry-specific data and analytical platforms that enable applied research and the development of evidence-based management solutions.

The content of the program is formed taking into account modern requirements of the digital economy and includes:

– Methodology of scientific and applied research in logistics

– Mathematical and simulation modeling of logistics systems

– Supply Chain Management

– Strategic logistics management in the context of digital transformation

– Digital technologies in logistics (TMS, WMS, ERP, Big Data, ITS)

– Innovative technologies and their implementation in logistics

– Data analytics and management decision-making

– Logistics risk management and supply chain sustainability

– Doctoral students participate in academic mobility, joint research, and international projects with foreign universities and organizations, including Belt and Road initiatives. The program includes participation in international conferences, internships, and publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.

– Business mentors – personal support from existing specialists and top managers.
