To carry out educational activities there are:
— highly qualified teaching staff (5 holders of the title “Best University teacher”, many teachers have been awarded other state awards);

– Apply knowledge of natural science disciplines to describe processes and build, develop and improve models, systems and objects of transport equipment.
– Formulate arguments and solve problems of the studied area, using professional vocabulary and basic grammar in oral and written forms in the state and foreign languages.
– Apply the achievements of modern computer technology, software and IT technology in all areas of the transport industry.
– To develop a set of measures to ensure the safety of life, environmental protection and labor protection, based on the analysis of harmful and dangerous factors at enterprises for the operation and repair of rolling stock.
– To make managerial decisions of an organizational and economic nature based on the analysis of supply and demand, the dynamics of the transport market situation.
– Solve technical problems of strength, reliability and stability of machines, mechanisms and structural elements based on the laws of mechanics.
– Determine the practical application of electrical equipment and electronics on rolling stock based on their functional features.
– Evaluate the technical characteristics of railway rolling stock units in order to optimize their design, technical characteristics and usage indicators based on the requirements of regulatory and technical documentation.
– To develop resource-saving technological processes of repair, technical (service) maintenance and diagnostics of rolling stock elements using modern automation and diagnostics tools, in order to ensure the required reliability indicators.
– To organize the processes of operation of railway rolling stock on the basis of forecasting reliability indicators to improve traffic safety using modern methods of production optimization.
Master of the section (workshop) of the wagon depot; engineer; repair engineer; engineer of the technical department; specialist in non-destructive testing, specialist in operational management of the team for the repair and maintenance of wagons; mechanic of a refrigerated wagon; specialist in electrical installations; train electrician.

The Department cooperates with the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Information (MTUCI) within the framework of academic mobility and the program of double-degree education and the Moscow State University of Railway Engineering (MIIT), now RUT (MIIT), with Omsk State University of Railway Engineering (OmGUPS), with the Technical University of Varna (Poland).
The Department of «Rolling Stock» successfully cooperates with such companies as: Kamkor-Wagon LLP, Kamkor-Locomotive LLP, Branches of KTZ —Freight Transportation JSC — operational locomotive depots, Branches of KTZ — Freight Transportation JSC — operational wagon depots, Branch of NC KTZ JSC”Design and experimental Center”.
Bachelors undergo all types of practices in leading companies of Kazakhstan – Kamkor-Wagon LLP, Kamkor-Locomotive LLP, Branches of KTZ — Freight Transportation JSC — operational locomotive depots, Branches of KTZ — Freight Transportation JSC — operational wagon depots, Branch of NC KTZ JSC “Design and Construction-experimental center”. The advantages of internships are that nonresident students can practice at their place of residence throughout Kazakhstan, where there are branches of these companies.
