Under the educational program 7M07345 – Transport Construction (specialized 1.5 years), in-demand specialists for transport infrastructure are trained, and research work is carried out.
To carry out educational activities, there are:
– highly qualified teaching staff (1 holder of the title “Honorary Railwayman”, many teachers were awarded other state awards and JSC “NC KTZ”);
– close connection with production (practical training at the enterprises of the industry, the presence of branches of the department in production);
– Developed laboratory and technical base.
- Apply the skills of personnel management, production, management psychology, strategic management and information support of business research.
- Interpret the results of scientific research in the form of reports, abstracts, publications and public discussions, including in a foreign language.
- Formulate methods for solving scientific and technical problems with any variables, constant objects of research, with complex systems using mathematical models, probability theory and mathematical statistics.
- To analyze the technical condition and technical and economic indicators of artificial structures on roads using experimental methods, modern software and hardware complexes and systems.
- Analyze the quality of design solutions in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents, risk analysis and mitigation, digital technologies and information security.

In order to train highly qualified specialists, in accordance with the requirements of higher education, it is necessary to have a powerful laboratory base today. The department has specialized laboratories for the disciplines of the specialty. For example, friendly, scientific and methodological relations with the Bonch-Bruevich St. Petersburg University of Telecommunications have been established and are actively maintained. The result of this cooperation is the installation of 8 universal test benches with control and measuring equipment for laboratory work in special disciplines.
The Department of Civil Engineering cooperates with the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Information (MTUCI) and the Moscow State University of Railway Engineering (MIIT), now RUT (MIIT), the Technical University of Varna (Poland) within the framework of academic mobility and the double-degree education program
The Department of Civil Engineering successfully cooperates with such companies as: JSC NC KazAvtoZhol Almaty, JSC “KazDorNII”, Branches of JSC “KTZ – Freight Transportation”.
Bachelors undergo all types of internships in the leading companies of Kazakhstan – JSC NC KazAvtozhol Almaty, JSC “KazDorNII”,
Branches of JSC “KTZ – Freight Transportation”. The advantages of internships are that nonresident students can do internships at their place of residence throughout Kazakhstan, where there are branches of these companies.
