For the training of highly qualified specialists, in accordance with the requirements of higher education, it is necessary today to have a modern material and technical base. The department has specialized laboratories, and a branch of the department also operates on the basis of the Almaty power supply division. Friendly, scientific and methodological relations have been established and actively maintained with the Omsk State University of Railway Engineering, the Moscow State University of Railway Engineering (RUT), the Samara State University of Railway Engineering, the Ural State University of Railway Engineering, the Technical University of Dresden, the Institute of Transport Studies of the University of California, the Korean National University of Transport, the Lanzhou University of Transport and Communications, the International University of Logistics and Transport of Wroclaw and other partner universities. The result of this cooperation is the academic mobility of students in major disciplines.
Partners and potential bases of practice are Almaty Power Plants (AlES), including CHPP-1, CHPP-2, CHPP-3 and other heat power facilities, Allageyim Electric, branches of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC – power supply divisions, Alatau Zharyk Company JSC (AZhK), Almaty Metro Kurylys LLP and other energy enterprises. Interaction with specialized organizations contributes to the acquisition of practical skills in the operation and maintenance of power equipment, the study of modern technologies for the production and distribution of thermal energy, as well as the formation of professional competencies of future specialists in the field of heat power engineering.
Students of the educational program 6B07197 “Heat Power Engineering” undergo all types of internships in leading companies in Kazakhstan, including Almaty Power Plants (AlES) – CHP-1, CHP-2, CHPP-3 and other facilities, Allageyim Electric, branches of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC – power supply distances, Alatau Zharyk Company JSC (AZhK), Almaty Metro Kurylys LLP and other energy enterprises. The advantage is the opportunity for nonresident students to undergo internship at the place of residence in various regions of Kazakhstan in the presence of relevant branches and partner enterprises.
Siemens / Siemens Energy certificates – operation and maintenance of thermal power equipment, steam turbines and automated process control systems; Schneider Electric certificates – industrial automation, energy management and energy efficiency improvement; certificates for energy management and energy efficiency based on the ISO 50001 standard; certificates for working with Siemens SIMATIC, TIA Portal, WinCC and PCS 7 automation systems.
