How to improve safety in railway transport, which will help accelerate the digitalization of railways and improve the quality of services for the transport of goods and passengers. These and other topics were discussed today in Almaty at the II Eurasian Forum on security and digitalization in railway transport among the countries of Central Asia and the CIS, which was held at the Academy of Logistics and Transport.
The forum brought together all those involved in the field of railway transport: among the guests were representatives of government agencies, heads of leading Kazakh and international transport and logistics companies, manufacturers of engineering and technical systems for ensuring transport security and information technology, research organizations, educational institutions and others.
The participants discussed issues of security, modernization of the transport system and digital transformation of the railway industry, wagon economy, as well as the concept of training for the transport, logistics and communications industries.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” Kanat Almagambetov, the company intends to build a new transport and logistics architecture in the context of global changes in the world.
“The stable volume of trade between Europe and Asia, the instability of maritime transport and the demand for rail transport have increased the transit potential of transport corridors through Kazakhstan. There is a need to develop alternative transit routes and ensure the safe and uninterrupted export of domestic products. Until 2029, it is planned to supply about 450 more locomotives,” said Kanat Almagambetov.
Digitalization, robotization, large-scale automation of management processes, the introduction of an autopilot – all this will make the industry the safest, says President-Rector of the Academy of Logistics and Transport Saltanat Amirgaliyeva.
“Despite the existing well-functioning railway infrastructure, it contains technically obsolete systems that are becoming increasingly difficult to maintain in working order in a technological shift. Integration of all business processes of the enterprise through the use of IT technologies allows you to create an efficient and flexible digital transport system. This will reduce the risks of the entire logistics supply chain for the transportation of goods and passengers,” emphasized the President-Rector of the Academy.
It should be noted that an exhibition of railway products and digital technologies was also held on the sidelines of the Forum, intellectual developments of the Academy of Logistics and Transport were presented.
