Silver University
The Silver University is a global movement aimed at ensuring the successful adaptation of older people to modern life, their self-education and self-improvement. The aim of this initiative is to expand traditional forms of education and stimulate the social activity of the older generation within the framework of the society’s development strategy.
The tasks of the “Silver University” include:
- Prolonging active longevity.
- Creating conditions for the transfer of experience and knowledge between generations.
- Improving the quality of life and the level of social activity of senior citizens.
- Formation and development of public platforms for communication.
- Stimulating creativity and maintaining a positive attitude towards life.
- Promoting a healthy lifestyle and increasing physical activity.
- Developing the intellectual potential and maintaining the health of the elderly.
- Ensuring effective cooperation in the field of support for the elderly.
At the Silver University, training is carried out according to the following schedule of the educational process:
- Classes are held twice a week according to a pre-arranged schedule.
- The duration of one lesson is 45 minutes.
- The duration of one training course does not exceed three months.
The group of listeners consists of at least five people. - Classes are held in the form of group classes.
- The formats of classes include lectures, seminars, excursions and trainings.
- Classes are available both full-time and remotely.
- The academic year at the Silver University covers the period from October 1 to May 1.
- At the end of the class (course), students are given a certificate.
