About military training

At the Institute of Military Affairs (hereinafter referred to as the Institute), it is planned to organize and carry out military training of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the programs of officers and sergeants of the reserve, on the basis of the higher professional education received, in accordance with the recruitment plan determined by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – MO RK).

Military training is carried out with the aim of preparing the mobilization reserve of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Institute is a structural subdivision of JSC “Academy of Logistics and Transport” (hereinafter referred to as the Academy). On issues of military training, the Institute is guided by the orders of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Military training of students is an additional type of training and consists of theoretical and practical training courses.

For military training under the program of reserve officers, 588 academic hours are allocated, of which: 360 – theoretical training and 228 – practical training.

294 academic hours are allocated for military training under the reserve sergeant program, of which: 180 – theoretical training and 114 – practical training.

At the same time, young men take part in the practical part of the training in the field (training camps), and girls – on the basis of the academy or military units (professional practice).

Military training under the program of officers and sergeants of the reserve is carried out free of charge and on a reimbursable basis. Students who have not passed the conditions of the competition for education on a gratuitous basis and are recommended by the selection committee for training on a reimbursable basis are involved in training on a reimbursable basis.

To study at the Institute on a reimbursable basis, the President – Rector of the Academy, in agreement with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and in accordance with the recruitment plan, may attract students from other universities, regardless of the form of ownership and subordination, that have a license from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan to conduct educational activities, but not having military departments.

In order to reimburse the costs associated with the provision of the Institute’s activities by the Academy, the cost of military training on a reimbursable basis is determined by the decision of the President-Rector.

Story

According to the order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 25, 2022 No. 354, in agreement with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Military Affairs was established at the Academy of Logistics and Transport JSC.

The Institute of Military Affairs plans to take a special place among the structural divisions of JSC “Academy of Logistics and Transport”, providing university graduates with an important specialty for every citizen of a sovereign state – defender of the Fatherland.

By order of the President-Rector of Academy of Logistics and Transport JSC dated October 4, 2022 No. PR-555-ls, in agreement with the Department of Military Education and Science of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Colonel of the Reserve Ishanov Yernazar Khamidullovich was appointed the first head of the Institute of Military Affairs, who began to create a training material -technical base of the Institute.

Military training at the Institute of Military Science is conducted by:

1. Under the programs of training reserve officers in the following military occupational specialties:

1) combat application of combined arms units and compounds;
2) organization of movement control and military transportation by rail, water and air transport;
3) organization of educational and ideological work in the Ground Forces;

4) financial support.

2. For training programs for reserve sergeants in the following military occupational specialties:

1) shooters (squad leaders);
2) automobiles (operation of automobile equipment).
