On April 3, 2025, an online lecture on energy saving, energy efficiency, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was held at ALT University named after M. Tynyshpayev.

Speakers included representatives from the Institute for the Development of Electric Power and Energy Saving and NEAH (New Energy Advancement Hub).

🗣️ M. Kalmenov, Director of the Institute’s Department, spoke about energy audits, legislation, and successful energy-saving projects.

🗣️ M. Stepanova, NEAH expert, covered topics such as sustainable energy transition, digitalization, and energy management.

  1. Kalmenov emphasized that enterprises consuming more than 1,500 tons of conventional fuel per year must undergo an energy audit every five years.

He presented the stages of an energy audit, key energy-saving methods, and examples of successful projects.

One example was replacing lighting at the SEZ “Saryarka” facility, which led to quick investment payback.

Another successful project was the implementation of a solar power plant at a regional children’s hospital.

  1. Stepanova discussed key energy transition technologies: renewable energy development, process electrification, and energy storage.

She emphasized the importance of conscious consumption, energy management, and digitalization in the energy sector.

NEAH provides useful resources on energy efficiency and sustainable development.

The lecture sparked active discussions about energy-saving measures at enterprises and the role of individuals in this process.

The organizers express sincere gratitude to M. Kalmenov and M. Stepanova for their valuable insights and inspiring examples.

We hope this event will mark the beginning of collaboration with the Institute and NEAH in the field of sustainable development.

We are confident that joint efforts will help create a highly efficient energy future.

Thank you to all participants for your interest and active engagement in the energy-saving discussion!
