During September 14 to 18, 2023, ALT delegation visited the city of Urumqi, Xinjiang Province, China to take part in the International Education Forum, which was held as part of EXPO China-Eurasia 2023. ALT team was invited to the important event by the ALT strategic partner Urumqi Vocational University (UVU).
On September 15, 2023, the International Education Forum was held, where about 800 people from 28 countries took part. Urumqi Vocational University (UVU) was one of the main co-organizers of this event. The Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kamil Akatov and the Deputy Secretary General of the SCO Nurlan Yermekbayev made the speech in the plenary session of the Forum.
The second part of the day the ALT delegation also participated in the sub-forum on international exchanges and cooperation in vocational education, which brought together more than 400 people from 12 countries. ALT President-Rector Saltanat Amirgaliyeva had a speech in the sub-forum and the Silk Road Scientific Workshop was launched online that jointly created on the basis of ALT with Urumqi Professional University (UVU).
On September 16, 2023, the ALT delegation visited SAURER company (Germany) and a plant of equipment production for the textile industry. This enterprise is a corporate partner of Urumqi Vocational University (UVU).
On September 17, 2023, Urumqi Vocational University (UVU) organized a campus tour for the ALT delegation and we visited the laboratories of robotics, warehousing and automobile diagnostics, as well as the student dormitory and the UVU canteen.
Also, a visit was organized to a company developing an educational platform. Company representatives presented the product, describing the advantages of the platform.
