Professional Development Program for the Leadership of Universities in Kazakhstan

From November 10 to 21, a professional development program titled “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in the System of Higher Education and Science” is being held for the leadership of Kazakhstani higher education institutions. The program aims to develop competencies required for digital transformation and enhancing the digital maturity of universities. Fifty participants from 20 universities across Kazakhstan — all representing the management of HEIs — are taking part.

Program format: hybrid (online and offline). The course is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Higher Education Institutions of Kazakhstan, and JSC “Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpaev ALT University.” The final sessions of the program will take place on November 20–21 at ALT University.

Speakers of the program include: F.N. Zhakypova, Head of the Academic Excellence and Global Competitiveness Project Group at the Project Management Office of MHES RK; A.A. Ulman, Director of the Geoecology Programs Office at Qamqor Foundation; D.A. Zhumabekov, expert in public administration and high technologies, Education Development Lead for the CIS at Microsoft; G.B. Serikova, of ALT University; U.E. Nesipkaliev, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development at D. Serikbayev EKTU; O. Kurdanova, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Yandex Qazaqstan; G. Kim, Founder of the AI startup LumiaAI; and international expert Asel Musagaliyeva-Tang, Founder of the EDUTech Future educational startup.

The program provides a platform for exchanging experience, generating new ideas and strategies for the digital development of universities, and strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and leading AI experts.
