Olympiad Rules

 

ALT OLYMPIAD consists of two stages:

Stage I
Online format — 50 logical questions
Maximum score: 50
Date: February 27, 2026

Stage II
Offline format — 60 questions in selected subjects
University presentation video
Date: April 17, 2026
Maximum score: 140

Only participants who successfully pass Stage I are admitted to Stage II.
The list of participants qualified for Stage II will be published on the website and additionally sent to the personal phone number provided during registration.

 

Prize winners of the ALT Olympiad are awarded as follows (for each cluster):

  • 1st–2nd–3rd placesALT 100% tuition grant certificate / 12 grants

  • 4th–5th–6th places50% tuition fee discount

  • 7th–8th–9th places30% tuition fee discount

  • 10th–25th places15% tuition fee discount

To apply the awarded grant or tuition discount, the UNT score must meet the minimum admission threshold established by the University.

Which subjects can be chosen?

About the Olympiad
Who can participate in the Olympiad?
Only applicants of the 2025–2026 academic year — students of grades 11 (12) of secondary schools and final-year college students — are eligible to participate.
What is the difficulty level of the Olympiad questions?

– The Olympiad questions are based on the school curriculum.

What documents are required for registration?

– An identity card or birth certificate.

How many stages does the Olympiad include?

– ALT OLYMPIAD consists of two stages.

Under what circumstances are the benefits granted to Olympiad prize winners revoked?

— The ALT grant or tuition fee discounts granted to Olympiad prize winners are revoked in the following cases:

  • if the student transfers during the academic year to a different educational program from the one for which the benefit was granted;

  • if the student’s semester GPA falls below 2.5.

In such cases, the granted benefit is non-refundable.

What obligations apply if an Olympiad prize winner leaves the University?

— An Olympiad prize winner (holder of an ALT grant or any tuition fee discount) is required to fully reimburse the University for all tuition-related expenses in the following cases:

  • transfer to another higher education institution;

  • expulsion from the University due to disciplinary violations;

  • voluntary withdrawal from further studies at the University.

Determination of Winners
Is the ALT OLYMPIAD winner required to take the UNT?

– Yes, it is mandatory.

How are the winners determined?

– Winners are determined based on the total score achieved.

Which majors can an Olympiad winner receive a grant for?

– The grant is awarded depending on the selected ALT OLYMPIAD cluster, the score obtained, and the UNT profile subjects. The ALT OLYMPIAD cluster and UNT profile subjects must match.

Can the winner refuse the grant?

– Yes. The winner may use the certificate at their discretion. If admitted under a state grant, the applicant may choose the state-funded option.
