On August 10, 2026, Kazakhstan celebrates Abai Day, marking the 181st anniversary of the birth of the great Kazakh poet, thinker, educator, and founder of written Kazakh literature.

On this day, the staff of ALT University took part in a ceremony dedicated to the memory of Abai Kunanbaiuly. University employees laid flowers at the monument to the great thinker, paying tribute to his memory and expressing deep respect for his rich spiritual legacy.

Abai Kunanbaiuly left a profound mark on the history of Kazakh culture and education. His works focus on the pursuit of knowledge, diligence, morality, spiritual growth, and civic responsibility. These ideas remain highly relevant today, especially for the younger generation. For the university community, reflecting on Abai’s heritage is not only a tribute to the great thinker, but also an opportunity to reaffirm core values of education, intellectual curiosity, and holistic personal development.

Abai Day is celebrated annually in Kazakhstan on August 10. The festive date was officially established in 2020.

ALT University firmly believes that preserving and promoting Abai’s legacy is a vital component of nurturing the younger generation and shaping the moral compass of its students.
