On June 5, Meruert Zharmagambetova, Chairman of the Board – Rector of ALT University, and Andrey Ivanov, Vice-Rector for Corporate and Social Development, visited the QazTehna plant located in Saran, Karaganda region.
QazTehna is one of the largest manufacturers of buses and commercial vehicles in Kazakhstan. The enterprise produces over 1,500 units of vehicles annually, implements advanced manufacturing technologies, and ensures a high level of localization, making a significant contribution to the development of the domestic machinery and transport industries.
During the visit, the university representatives toured the enterprise’s production facilities, getting acquainted with the technological processes and modern solutions utilized in the assembly of passenger and commercial vehicles.
Special attention was focused on engineering workforce development for the real sector of the economy. The parties discussed opportunities for organizing student internships and practical training, advancing practice-oriented learning, and launching joint educational projects designed to train specialists tailored to the current demands of the industry.
Partnering with the country’s leading manufacturing enterprises is a core element of ALT University’s educational strategy. The university consistently develops collaborations with employers to ensure that students acquire not only foundational academic knowledge but also hands-on experience with modern technologies and production processes while still studying.
The meeting participants expressed mutual interest in further expanding their cooperation and creating new opportunities to train highly sought-after engineering professionals capable of working effectively in today’s high-tech manufacturing environments.
