On September 18, 2026, ALT University (Almaty) hosted a meeting with a delegation from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. The delegation included Professor Simon Thompson, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Keith Perera, Head of Education.
During the meeting, representatives of both universities presented their educational programs and key areas of activity, and discussed prospects for further cooperation.
The parties reviewed the main areas of cooperation under a future Memorandum of Understanding: student academic mobility, Double Degree programs, as well as research internships and research cooperation.
The University of Sussex expressed its readiness to host ALT University faculty for research and academic internships, and invited ALT University students to take part in its Summer School programs.
The parties also discussed prospects for launching joint educational programs — a 2+2 bachelor’s program and a 1+1 master’s program, with Business as a priority field.
The parties agreed to continue discussing the details of cooperation through further correspondence.
