Almaty, July 24, 2026 — ALT University named after M. Tynyshpaev officially launched ACT Creative Tech Week 2026, an international educational week that brings together artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and creative industries. The opening ceremony was attended by Ha Tae-uk, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, along with representatives from ALT University, the “Dialog” Translators’ Union, Almaty Creative, the Almaty Tourism Bureau, international educational and technology companies, as well as industry experts and participants.
ACT Creative Tech Week 2026 introduces participants to cutting-edge practices and technologies currently reshaping the global creative and tech sectors: from webtoon creation and AI integration in cinema, animation, and advertising to digital manufacturing transformation and no-code software solutions.
This educational week marks one of the flagship international projects of the Academy of Creative Technologies (ACT), established at ALT University in May 2026 in partnership with the “Dialog” Translators’ Union. The Academy focuses on training professionals at the intersection of AI, IT, and creative industries, offering hands-on experience with modern tools and leveraging international expertise.
The expansion of creative industries is rapidly becoming a vital driver of the modern economy. At the intersection of creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship, new career paths, products, and business models are emerging, while AI and digital tools continue to redefine content creation and intellectual property management.
During the official ceremony, Arslan Seriktegi, Chairman of the Board of Directors at ALT University named after M. Tynyshpaev, highlighted that hosting ACT Creative Tech Week reflects a sustained commitment to advancing cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea in education, science, innovation, and emerging technologies.
“The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea enjoy long-standing friendly and mutually beneficial relations. Collaboration between our nations has consistently expanded across the economy, science, education, innovation, culture, and high technologies. Joint initiatives like this enhance human capital and reinforce humanitarian ties between our peoples,” stated Arslan Seriktegi.
Ha Tae-uk, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, underscored the growing significance of technological and creative sectors in driving bilateral cooperation forward.
“Today, areas such as artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing transformation, creative industries, and digital content are acquiring paramount importance. These fields hold the potential to become new catalysts for Korean-Kazakhstani cooperation and elevate our bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level,” noted Ha Tae-uk.
According to the Consul General, engaging youth in such educational initiatives is of special importance, as the acquired knowledge, professional networks, and joint projects will form the cornerstone for the future development of Kazakh-Korean partnership.
The curriculum of ACT Creative Tech Week 2026 spans four specialized tracks: Visual Storytelling and Webtoon, AI Production in Film, Animation, and Advertising, Smart Factory & Manufacturing DX, and No-Code AI Technologies. Leading practitioners from the Republic of Korea and CIS countries in webtoons, intellectual property, AI, Smart Factory infrastructure, digital manufacturing, and no-code tools are mentoring the participants.
A key milestone of the opening ceremony was the signing of three Memorandums of Understanding between ALT University and prominent South Korean organizations: YLAB Academy, Yumong Co., Ltd., and Smart Maker Platform.
These strategic agreements lay a solid foundation for launching joint educational initiatives, sharing expertise, deploying advanced digital technologies, and delivering creative industry projects, thereby broadening ALT University’s collaborative network with South Korean academic and technological institutions.
Following the opening ceremony and memorandum signings, a campus tour was arranged for Consul General Ha Tae-uk and the visiting delegation. The guests were shown ALT University’s material and technical infrastructure, modern learning labs, specialized equipment, and facility capacity designed for high-level educational, scientific, and technological endeavors.
