On September 10, 2026, the military Department of ALT UNIVERSITY held a seminar with students dedicated to explaining the main provisions of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, adopted at the republican referendum on March 15, 2026. The event was primarily aimed at improving the legal literacy of students, forming a respectful attitude towards the Constitution and laws of the country, as well as awareness of each citizen’s constitutional rights and duties.

During the seminar, the key provisions of the Basic Law were explained to the students, as well as the most significant changes made to the country’s constitutional system. Particular attention was paid to the fact that the new Constitution significantly updated the content and structure of the Basic Law: the changes affected a significant part of the text, with a special emphasis on the priority of human rights and freedoms, the development of human capital, education, science, innovation and culture.

During the discussion, it was noted that for citizens, the adoption of a new Constitution means further strengthening legal guarantees, increasing the responsibility of state institutions to society, improving human rights protection mechanisms and creating a stronger legal framework for the development of the country. At the same time, the implementation of constitutional norms presupposes not only knowledge of their rights, but also responsible fulfillment of their duties by citizens, observance of laws, respect for the rights of others and active participation in the life of the state.

The seminar is also important in terms of the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 16 “Peace, justice and effective institutions”. Improving the legal literacy of young people, fostering respect for the law, human rights and State institutions directly contributes to the development of legal culture, strengthening the rule of law and the formation of a responsible civil society.
