Saule Ertayevna Bekzhanova, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor of the Department of Logistics and Business at ALT University, served as a key speaker at the 29th Kazakhstan International Exhibition “TransLogistica Kazakhstan,” held at the Expo Astana International Exhibition Center from October 14 to 16, 2026.
As part of the exhibition’s business agenda, Professor Bekzhanova addressed the “Women in Logistics” panel, which focused on the evolving role of women in the transport and logistics sector, professional career development, and modern educational frameworks.
Her presentation, titled “People and Technologies in the Transport of the Future: From University Education to Smart Logistics,” outlined strategic directions for transforming engineering and management education amidst widespread digitalization, automation, and the increasing complexity of supply chain systems.
Special emphasis was placed on the synergy between academia, scientific research, and industry. Professor Bekzhanova highlighted that a modern transport university must go beyond foundational academics by preparing industry-ready professionals capable of leveraging digital tools, analyzing real-world operational challenges, and executing large-scale logistics projects.
Key priorities for future-ready workforce preparation identified in her presentation include project-based learning, artificial intelligence applications, big data analytics, simulation modeling, and digital twins of transport infrastructure. Furthermore, active employer involvement in curriculum co-design, internship delivery, and real-world problem statements remains essential for sector advancement.
The address also stressed the development of cross-disciplinary skills combining transport logistics, information technology, data science, and intelligent control systems to ensure graduates meet global industry standards.
Professor Bekzhanova’s participation directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) through the promotion of professional technical education, innovative supply chain solutions, and female leadership in transport engineering.
ALT University remains committed to advancing educational and research methodologies tailored to current industry demands, preparing top-tier engineering talent, and driving digital transformation in transport and logistics.
