On October 16, 2026, the International Center for Boundary Cooperation “Khorgos,” located on the border between Kazakhstan and China, hosted the III Euro-Asian Financial and Economic Forum: “East-West: Business Without Borders.” The summit convened key leaders from government ministries, financial institutions, banking sectors, and international enterprise networks to discuss the trajectory of global economic cooperation.
The primary objective of the forum was to enhance cross-border business integration between European and Asian markets, strengthen bilateral commerce, and construct resilient supply chain ecosystems within the framework of the global “Belt and Road” Initiative.
ALT University was officially represented at the international forum. University Founder Gulzana Serikova served as a key speaker during the second plenary session, “From the Silk Road to the Next-Generation Economic Belt: Logistics, Capital, and Industry,” presenting her paper titled “Human Resources for the Logistics of the Future: Competencies in the Era of Digital Transformation.”
Her presentation addressed workforce development strategies for the modern transport and logistics sector, the evolution of core professional competencies, and the adaptation of higher education curricula to rapid digitalization. She emphasized the importance of university-industry collaboration to establish a skilled talent pipeline capable of servicing international transport corridors.
The delegation also included Yerzhan Karsybayev, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor of the Department of Logistics and Business at ALT University.
The III Euro-Asian Financial and Economic Forum served as a high-level strategic platform for professional dialogue covering cross-border investments, international financial settlements, digital transformation, artificial intelligence integration, cybersecurity, and Eurasian trade corridors.
The participation of ALT University aligns directly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by advancing professional training, bolstering international academic-industrial linkages, and preparing highly qualified specialists for the global supply chain sector.
ALT University continues to refine its educational frameworks to meet the evolving demands of enterprise partners and the complex challenges of international logistics.
