On December 3, 2025, an online lecture was held by Sergey Mukhambetsadykovich Murzinov, expert-consultant of IPrav LLP, on the topic “Prospects for the Digitalization of Kazakhstan’s Track Economy” (03.12.2025, Astana).

Today, the railway track economy is undergoing a stage of technological transformation. One of the key directions that significantly enhances the safety and efficiency of infrastructure management is the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies.

Key points of the lecture:

  • AI can analyze large volumes of data on track geometry, the condition of rails and sleepers, vibration changes, and dynamic loads.
    • Machine learning algorithms can predict defects several months in advance, preventing emergency situations and increasing the reliability of train operations.
    • Digital platforms and real-time sensors enable a transition to predictive maintenance, where repair schedules are based not on fixed intervals, but on the actual technical condition of the track.
    • The scale and strategic importance of Kazakhstan’s railway network create great opportunities for the implementation of intelligent technologies.

Artificial intelligence is becoming a key tool in the development of the railway industry. Today, we stand on the threshold of a new stage, where technologies not only assist specialists but become an integral part of a unified intelligent railway management system.
