On March 20, 2026, the faculty of the “General Engineering” department participated in a research-to-practice seminar dedicated to the formation of an inclusive environment. The featured speaker was Elena Vladimirovna Musikhina, Candidate of Psychological Sciences and Associate Professor.
The primary goal of the seminar was to enhance the professional competence of educators in the field of inclusive education. The program focused on:
-
Developing inclusive thinking and fostering deep empathy.
-
Mastering practical tools for creating barrier-free communication.
-
Promoting values of respect for the individual and equality, directly contributing to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 10: “Reduced Inequalities.”
Participation in the seminar allowed the department staff to reach a new level of understanding regarding educational ethics. Special attention was paid to developing empathy and equality within the educational environment—key principles linked to SDG 10. As a result of the meeting, the instructors gained:
- Practical Communication Tools: specific interaction algorithms were examined to minimize psychological barriers between teachers and students, taking into account individual characteristics.
- Empathy Skill Development: participants practiced “active listening” techniques and psychological flexibility, which help create an atmosphere of trust and safety in the classroom.
- Methodological Foundation: educators received recommendations on adapting the educational process for inclusion, making learning more accessible and equitable.
The seminar was a significant step in transforming the educational environment of the “General Engineering” department into a space where every student, regardless of their individual needs, can feel like a full participant in the learning process.
