On October 15, 2026, Astana hosted the VIII International Transport and Logistics Business Forum “New Silk Way,” a premier regional platform for strategic dialogue and industry partnership.
As part of the forum program, Arslan Seriktegi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpayev ALT University, delivered a keynote address during Panel Session No. 4, titled “Synergy of Education and Business in Cross-Border Transport Logistics: Skills and Competencies of the Future.” His presentation was titled “Business as a Partner in Workforce Training: The ALT University Experience.”
The discussion centered on multi-stakeholder collaboration between academic institutions and enterprise leaders to train highly qualified logistics professionals, as well as the cultivation of core competencies required along expanding international transport corridors.
In his address, the ALT University representative highlighted the critical value of university-industry alignment. Amid accelerating digital transformation across the logistics sector, practice-oriented education plays a decisive role in equipping students with real-world skills that directly reflect labor market demands.
The “New Silk Way” Business Forum was organized by the Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan “KAZLOGISTICS” with the official support of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan and JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” (KTZ). The Union unites key stakeholders across rail, road, maritime, river, and civil aviation sub-sectors.
Established in 2011 to advance Kazakhstan’s strategic position as a Eurasian transit and logistics hub, the forum has become a crucial venue for professional exchange and transport infrastructure development.
ALT University’s active participation directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
-
SDG 4 (Quality Education): Advancing practice-integrated learning tailored to industry benchmarks;
-
SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): Strengthening corporate partnerships across the transport sector and integrating innovative training methodologies.
ALT University continues to deepen its corporate ties, refine academic curricula, and implement industry-aligned educational frameworks to prepare next-generation engineering and transport professionals for Kazakhstan.
