Darkhan B. Shertayev, Process Engineer at “EKZ Service” LLP (“Alstom Kazakhstan” LLP), Project Manager for Industrialization, and Head of Section at the Almaty Depot, delivered a guest lecture titled: “Reliability of the Automated Condition Monitoring System for KZ8A/KZ4AT Electric Locomotives” for students of groups IPS-24-1,2.
This initiative aligns with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) regarding the development of safe transport and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), focusing on the innovative modernization of the industrial base.
Key Lecture Highlights:
-
Safety and Monitoring: Implementation of comprehensive microprocessor-based control and diagnostic systems.
-
Technological Development: Utilization of intelligent systems (such as “Bort” or automated driving systems) that enhance the operational efficiency of the locomotive fleet.
-
Infrastructure Resilience: Automated control reduces accident risks and optimizes maintenance costs, which is critical for modern transport corridors.
Transport reliability now begins with digitalization. The automated condition monitoring system of these locomotives is more than just sensors; it is a tangible contribution to the technological advancement of the industry, enabling real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.
