On March 21, 2026, during a planned technological “window,” workers of the Almaty Track Distance carried out the installation of expansion joints at the Aksenger station. This critical operation took place at the junction between the jointless track and the turnout.

The event was attended by senior management from the “Mainline Network Directorate” (JSC “NC “KTZ”) and faculty members of the Department of Transport Construction at ALT University. The use of expansion joints at the boundary of jointless tracks and turnouts ensures a safe transition from temperature-induced stress to a mode of free movement for the rail strings. This engineering solution prevents critical stress transfer to the turnout, significantly enhancing the safety and durability of the railway infrastructure.
