ALT University hosted a guest lecture titled «Getting to Know Orbis Auto: From Company to Career» to broaden students’ understanding of the modern automotive business, professional development opportunities, and employer expectations for young professionals.
The speaker was B. Akhmetova, an HR specialist at Orbis Auto, who introduced students to the company’s activities and discussed career prospects and professional development opportunities within the automotive industry.
Orbis Auto is the automotive division of the Orbis Kazakhstan group of companies. Its activities in Kazakhstan include vehicle sales, after-sales service, the supply of genuine spare parts, and customer support. The company also offers services related to vehicle financing and leasing.
During the lecture, particular attention was given to career development opportunities within a large company, corporate culture, and the role of human capital in business growth. Students gained insight into the company’s operations from an employer’s perspective and learned more about the knowledge and competencies valued in the recruitment process.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the professional development of young specialists. Participants discussed the importance of practical skills, responsibility, initiative, teamwork, and a willingness to pursue continuous learning.
Learning from an HR specialist’s experience helped students better understand the interaction between employers and job applicants, the qualities companies look for when recruiting new employees, and the importance of combining professional knowledge with strong communication skills.
Such meetings help students develop a clearer understanding of their future careers, connect their academic knowledge with labour market requirements, and make informed decisions about their professional development.
ALT University continues to develop partnerships with businesses, creating opportunities for students to engage with different sectors of the economy and gain a better understanding of employers’ current needs.
Guest lectures help bridge academic knowledge and professional experience, broaden students’ career perspectives, and strengthen the connection between higher education and the labour market.
The meeting with the Orbis Auto representative provided students with valuable insights into career opportunities and encouraged them to take a more informed approach to building their professional futures.
