On March 5, ALT University hosted a guest lecture on “The Prospects of Track Facilities,” delivered by Arman Srazhdinovich Bubikanov, Director of the Track and Structures Department of the “Mainline Network Directorate” branch of JSC “NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.”

During the meeting, the speaker provided a detailed overview of the current state, challenges, and prospects for the development of track facilities in Kazakhstan. Special attention was given to major infrastructure projects implemented by JSC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” (KTZ), including:

  • Construction of a railway bypassing Almaty: The project involves laying 130 kilometers of tracks, building three separate stations, 13 bridges, and five railway overpasses. The implementation of this line will reduce the load on the Almaty railway hub by 40% and shorten freight delivery times to 24 hours.
  • Construction of the Dostyk – Moyynty railway line: A project worth over $1 billion includes the construction of 836 km of railway, which will increase the section’s capacity fivefold—from 12 to 60 train pairs.

Arman Srazhdinovich emphasized the importance of training qualified specialists for the successful implementation of these projects. He noted that many of our university’s graduates are already employed by JSC “NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy,” and students undergo internships there, highlighting the strong cooperation between the university and the company.

Students showed great interest in the lecture, asking questions about the prospects for railway infrastructure development, the introduction of innovative technologies, and employment opportunities. The meeting took place in a productive atmosphere, strengthening ties between the university and representatives of the railway industry.
