On May 17, 2026, students of the “SIB” educational program participated in the “Cybersecurity Challenge II” competition. A total of 10 teams took part in the event, demonstrating a high level of preparation, professional skills, and strong interest in information security issues.
The competition was held in the CTF (Capture The Flag) format, one of the most popular practice-oriented cybersecurity competition formats. Participants solved tasks of varying difficulty related to vulnerability assessment, cryptography, web security, digital forensics, reverse engineering, and network traffic analysis. The main objective for the teams was to find special “flags” by solving practical cybersecurity challenges within a limited time.
The purpose of the event, within the framework of SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure,” was to develop innovative competencies in the field of information security, improve digital literacy, and train qualified specialists capable of ensuring the resilience and security of modern digital infrastructure.
For the students, participation in the CTF competition became a valuable practical experience that allowed them to apply theoretical knowledge in real cybersecurity scenarios, develop rapid analysis and decision-making skills, and enhance their professional competencies in information security.
According to the competition results, participants of the “SIB” educational program demonstrated decent results and received positive feedback from the jury members.
We express our sincere gratitude to the jury members, as well as to the organizations and partners of the competition, for their professional evaluation of the participants’ work and support of the event. Special thanks are extended to the Department of Cybersecurity at Energo University for the high level of organization of the competition and the invitation to participate.
