On May 31, in the village of Zhanalyk, located in the Kainar rural district of Talgar district, Almaty region, a solemn memorial event was held to honor the victims of political repression and famine.

During the event, participants visited the Museum of Political Repression Victims and laid flowers at the memorial.
The Chairman of the Almaty Regional Maslikhat, members of the veterans’ council, and public figures delivered commemorative speeches, reflecting on the tragic injustices of the past.
Prayers (Dua) were recited, and a memorial meal was served at the “Alash Arys-tary” mosque.

This event aimed to preserve historical memory, honor the past, and instill responsibility and remembrance in future generations.

The staff of Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpaev ALT University also took part in this meaningful gathering, paying their respects to the victims.

Commemorating the era of political repression and famine is an essential part of building national historical consciousness and spiritual responsibility.
