We don’t just consume—we create the future. On April 9, 2026, the Department of General Engineering hosted a mini-exhibition titled “Responsible Consumption and Production,” where first-year students showcased their initial steps toward solving global environmental challenges.
Even though the participants are just beginning their journey in science and design, their solutions impressed experts and guests with their boldness and practical utility.
Key Highlights of the Exposition:
-
Second Life of Materials: Students demonstrated how ordinary PET bottles and old textiles can be transformed into urban decor elements and functional accessories.
-
Recycling Innovations: Prototypes of automated waste sorting systems for campus buildings were presented.
-
Eco-Design: Projects featuring biodegradable packaging that could replace plastic in campus cafeterias.
“SDG 12 is not just a set of points in UN documents; it is about real actions. Today’s exhibition showed that freshmen are ready to take responsibility for the future of our planet,” the event organizers noted.
The Main Takeaway: Innovation starts small—with the desire to change the conventional consumption model into one that is more conscious and sustainable.
