Within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 9 and 11, as well as Science Month, a guest lecture on “KNAUF Materials and Technologies” was held at the Department of Architecture and Construction Engineering at ALT University named after Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpaev.
The speakers were Oleg Anatolyevich Sotnikov, Head of the KNAUF Training Center, and Karibay Magzhan, Technical Sales Manager at KNAUF.
During the lecture, participants were introduced to modern KNAUF materials and technologies for dry construction, including gypsum board systems, partition walls, suspended ceilings, as well as sound and thermal insulation solutions. Special attention was given to energy efficiency, sustainable construction, and modern design approaches, including the use of advanced technologies.
The speakers also shared practical experience in applying these materials in real projects and explained key requirements for installation quality and design solutions.
In addition, the architectural award “SAULE” was presented. The name has a dual meaning: in German, “SAULE” means “column,” while in Kazakh it means “ray of light.” The award aims to identify and support the best architectural projects in the region—both realized and conceptual—and provides opportunities for professional recognition and international visibility.
The event was held in an open dialogue format and served as a platform for exchanging knowledge, professional experience, and current perspectives between industry representatives, faculty members, and students.
Such meetings contribute to the development of engineering thinking and strengthen the link between education, science and industry, in line with Sustainable Development Goals 4 — “Quality Education”, 9 — “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure”, and 11 — “Sustainable Cities and Communities.”
