On February 3, 2026, Almaty hosted an official meeting between the leadership of Mukhametzhan Tynyshbayev ALT University and Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics (MTUCI). The visit took place in an offline format at ALT University campus.

The meeting opened with welcoming speeches from the heads of the universities: Meruert Zharmagambetova, Chair of the Board-Rector of ALT University, and Sergey Erokhin, Rector of MTUCI. The delegations included vice-rectors and leading experts in digital technologies and telecommunications from both sides.

Exploring Infrastructure: Campus Tour
Following the official ceremony, a comprehensive tour of the university’s technological hubs was organized for the Russian colleagues. The MTUCI delegation visited over 15 key sites, including:
Digital and IT Labs: «HUAWEI Academy», «Intelligent Sensing Lab», «Coding Club», and «Robotics and Mechatronics».
Industrial Centers: Labs for Siemens, Smart Home, RES, and the Technopark.
Specialized Clusters: «Silk Road Workshop-Smart Logistics» training center, «Smart Roads» lab, and the Flight School.
The visit concluded with a tour of modern coworking spaces and lecture halls. This meeting has laid a solid foundation for joint innovative projects in the field of communications and IT between Kazakhstan and Russia.
