In accordance with the Order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 24, 2017 No. 375 “On approval of the Rules of military training for reserve officers and reserve sergeants”, the work of the commission for the admission of students to the Military Department of JSC ALT Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpayev University continues.
At the same time, it should be emphasized that in accordance with the new rules of military training, the Ministry of Defense introduced a number of changes to the educational process in 2026, including the duration of students’ studies at military departments. Now a reserve officer will be trained for two years and five months, and a reserve sergeant for one year and five months. This circumstance is primarily due to the fact that the leadership of the military department today imposes new requirements for the training of a military-trained reserve, taking into account the current geopolitical situation in the world.
In this regard, it should be noted that in the current 2026-2027 academic year, the university’s military department has revised curricula and student training plans, taking into account the requirements. The main focus is on the quality of military training, including 70 percent of the curriculum devoted to practical training.
This approach is fully consistent with the UN Sustainable Development Goals No. 4.
