Students of M. Tynyshpayev ALT University, group RET-22-2k, together with the Head of the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications, Gulzada Dauletbekovna Musapirova, and their advisor Kuanysh Danabek Dauletuly, took part in an introductory lecture organized by the City Telecommunication Center of JSC “Kazakhtelecom” / branch (Station 40).
The lecture was delivered by Vladimir Mikhailovich Otradnykh, a first-category instructor at KU. He covered topics ranging from fixed-line telephony and IP telephony to broadband Internet (FTTH, GPON, xDSL), mobile communications, digital television (iD TV, OTT services), corporate solutions, and data centers. He provided detailed explanations on backbone, regional, and zonal network levels, as well as on new technologies and their development. Students also had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with fiber optics.
Technical mentor Olzhas Khamzaevich Bashkulov conducted a tour of all standard equipment and engineering infrastructure.
Such events help students understand the connection between academic disciplines and real-world industrial tasks, develop analytical and technological skills, and prepare them for their future professional careers.
