On April 23, 2026, the Department of Information and Communication Technologies organized and held a scientific and practical conference dedicated to International Girls in ICT Day. The main purpose of the event was to increase girls’ interest in the field of information technology, promote scientific research activities, and develop professional competencies in the field of digital technologies.

The conference was attended by teachers, students, young researchers, and invited experts from leading universities and scientific organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The participants delivered presentations on current issues related to the development of information technologies, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, cybersecurity, data analysis, and innovative solutions in the IT field. During the conference, modern IT trends, the prospects of digitalization in various sectors of the economy, as well as the exchange of scientific and practical experience were actively discussed.

The honorary guests of the conference were:

– Akbayan Bekarystankyzy, Associate Professor at Narxoz University;
– Asem Shayakhmetova, Associate Professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University;
– D.O. Oralbekova, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Information and Computational Technologies of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The invited experts shared their professional experience and spoke about modern areas of scientific research in the field of information technology, as well as career development opportunities for girls in the IT industry. The presentations of the guests aroused great interest among the participants and contributed to the development of scientific dialogue between representatives of education, science, and industry.

The conference contributes to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 4, “Quality Education,” which is aimed at ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and creating opportunities for lifelong learning. In addition, the event corresponds to the UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 9, “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure,” as it promotes the development of young people’s innovative potential, supports scientific research, and encourages the introduction of modern digital technologies.

The conference became an important platform for knowledge exchange, discussion of current scientific issues, and strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and scientific organizations. It also inspired young girls to further develop themselves in the field of information and communication technologies.
