On March 20, 2026, students and faculty of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) organized an environmental initiative in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The event specifically aligned with SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
As part of the initiative, participants collected used plastic bottles and aluminum cans, which were then processed through Freedom’s reverse vending machines (RVMs). In a meaningful gesture of social responsibility, 100% of the proceeds generated from the recycled materials were donated to the “Save the Aral” Charitable Foundation.
This initiative aims to foster an ecological culture within the university, highlight the vital importance of waste recycling, and contribute to environmental protection.
To conclude the event, the ICT Department officially passed the torch to other departments and students of ALT University, launching an Eco-Challenge and calling on the entire university community to join forces in protecting nature for future generations.
