Based on the collaboration between ALT University named after Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpayev and Alageum Electric, 3rd-year Electrical Power Engineering students are gaining hands-on experience at the Almaty Electromechanical Plant through a dual education program. Following the university management’s “Less Theory, More Practice” principle, students prioritize real-world skill development and internships over traditional classroom lectures.
At the plant, students are actively involved in assembling electrical equipment, installing transformer internal components, mounting electrical cabinets, and performing circuit-based wiring and testing. Industry mentor A.P. Izbasarov highly commended the students’ professionalism and their ability to quickly grasp and efficiently complete complex technical tasks. This partnership, carried out under SDG 17 — “Partnerships for the Goals,” represents an effective model of cooperation between academia and industry in training high-demand specialists.
