On the occasion of World Radio Day, celebrated annually on February 13, a thematic master class was held at the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications of M. Tynyshpaev ALT University for students of the educational programs “Radio Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications” and “Telecommunication Systems and Networks of Railway Transport.”

The event aimed to expand students’ knowledge of modern radio technologies, develop practical skills in working with radio engineering equipment, and foster interest in engineering fields.

During the master class, participants were introduced to the history of radio communication development, the principles of radio signal transmission and reception, as well as modern applications of radio technologies in telecommunications and digital infrastructure. The practical part of the event included demonstrations of radio transmitters and receivers, antenna systems, and components of radio engineering complexes.

Special attention was given to the role of modern telecommunication technologies in ensuring efficient and sustainable use of energy resources, as well as in the development of energy-efficient communication systems. In this context, the master class contributes to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 7 — “Affordable and Clean Energy,” as modern radio engineering and telecommunication solutions help optimize energy consumption in communication infrastructure and support the development of sustainable digital systems.

Such educational initiatives contribute to the development of professional competencies of future engineers, strengthen practice-oriented learning, and increase students’ interest in research activities in the field of radio engineering and telecommunications.
