Tynyshpayev ALT University hosted a series of lectures and practical workshops for faculty members focused on inclusive education and the creation of an accessible educational environment.
These training events were organized by the ALT University Office of Inclusive Education in preparation for upcoming advanced faculty training based on a specialized program.
Specialists from the Department of Special Education conducted the sessions: Laura Tleuzhanovna Isayeva (Senior Lecturer) and Gulzhan Serikovna Orazayeva (Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor). The lecturers presented both theoretical and practical aspects of organizing an inclusive educational process to the participants.
The sessions were based on the program “Psychological-Pedagogical and Methodological Support for Students in an Inclusive Setting,” implemented by the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University (KazNWTTU). The subsequent training course under this program comprises 72 academic hours.
During the lectures and workshops, faculty members examined key issues regarding inclusive education in higher education, including the legislative framework and the development of an inclusive culture, the conditions for integrating students with special educational needs into the educational environment, and the creation of a barrier-free, physically accessible university setting.
Particular attention was paid to the professional preparation of faculty for working with students with special educational needs, as well as the application of diverse pedagogical approaches, modern educational technologies, and practical teaching methods. The lectures and seminars held were part of ALT University’s ongoing efforts to develop the professional competencies of its faculty regarding inclusion and to prepare for further professional training.
Subsequently, 65 ALT University faculty members successfully completed an advanced training course titled “Psychological, Pedagogical, and Methodological Support for Students in an Inclusive Environment.”
The initiative aims to foster an inclusive educational environment at ALT University, enhance educational accessibility, and create equal opportunities for all students.
