On November 1, 2025, Mukhametzhan Tynyshbayev ALT University hosted the technical opening of the future Lu Ban Workshop specializing in robotics. The event was organized within the framework of cooperation between ALT University and Urumqi Vocational University, with the support of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty.
The ceremony began with the raising of the national flags of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China, accompanied by the national anthems of both countries performed by the Military Orchestra of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.
Welcome speeches were delivered by Meruert Zharmagambetova, Chairman of the Board – Rector of ALT University, Gulzana Serikova, Founder of the ALT University, Tang Xiaobing, Secretary of the Party Committee of Urumqi Vocational University, and Lü Yi, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty.
The technical opening marked an important step toward the establishment of the Lu Ban Workshop in robotics, which will serve as a modern educational and research platform aimed at developing students’ practical skills and supporting innovation in engineering and technology. The participants took part in the unveiling of the Lu Ban Workshop emblem and joined a campus tour to explore the university’s facilities.
The future Lu Ban Workshop is expected to become a key scientific and educational center that will strengthen Kazakhstan–China cooperation in technical education and advanced technologies.
