On April 2, 2026, Associate Professors of the “Language Education” Department, G.A. Kalambayeva and G.K. Yeszhanova, organized an educational session for first-year students focused on SDG 15: Life on Land.
During the event, students explored the primary environmental challenges facing Almaty, such as air and water pollution, the solid waste management crisis, and the depletion of urban green spaces. Special attention was paid to the systemic interconnection of these issues and the importance of addressing them through a comprehensive, interdisciplinary lens.
The session fostered environmental awareness and a sense of personal responsibility among students. Participants analyzed the root causes of environmental degradation and proposed practical solutions, emphasizing the role of individual actions in achieving global sustainability goals.
