On 18 November 2025, an event dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the great Abai Kunanbayev was held with the participation of the teaching staff of the Department of “Social and Humanitarian Disciplines and Physical Education”, organized by moderators L.T. Kurmanbaeva, B.S. Shugaeva, and P.M. Beysenova, along with other department instructors.
Abai (Ibrahim) Kunanbayuly — a teacher, poet, educator, founder of the modern Kazakh literary language, philosopher, composer, translator, political figure, and reformer who sought to modernize Kazakh culture — was the main focus of the presentations and reports delivered by students. They analyzed his Words of Edification, answered quiz questions, and recited several of his poems. The students also emphasized that Abai’s poetic works addressed the social, public, and moral issues of the Kazakh people, which remain relevant for today’s youth. Conducting such events plays an important role in promoting and preserving our history and culture.
