At the Academy of Logistics and Transport on the basis of the Department “Automation and Control” on 2nd December, 2022, a guest lecture was held by students and teaching staff with the head of the Department for Innovative Technologies of Saiman Corporation LLP, Zikirbai Kuanysh Yergarauly on the topic: “IoT technologies”.
The close connection of the topic of the guest lecture with the Policy, Goals and Strategy of the Academy of Logistics and Transport in the field of digital transformation is especially important for students, undergraduates, doctoral students and teaching staff of the Department of Automation and Management.
K. E. Zikirbai began his speech with the main directions (technologies) of digital development of science and technology in the era of Industry 4.0: IoT (Internet of Things), BD (Big Data), AI (Artificial Intelligence), including Machine learning, blockchain, Automation and robotics, etc. He described in detail about the development of IoT technology, areas of application, provided analytical data on the volume of the global Internet of Things market, about the technologies used. As an example, the lecturer elaborated on the LoRaWAN technology, which is one of the types of LPWAN networks.
“Taking into account the above, the market now urgently needs specialists in the field of automation who own Industry 4.0 technologies.” concluded Zikirbai K.E.
During the lecture, students and teaching staff were asked questions about the use of IoT technologies, constant feedback was maintained with the audience, and a discussion was actively held on various typical problems when setting professional goals.
In general, the lecture was very interesting and relevant, it is especially important that the examples given from experience served to increase the interest of students in their specialty, and for teaching staff gave direction for further research in the field of transport automation.
In conclusion, Zikirbai K.E. also told that SAIMAN is always ready to accept our students for practical training, to teach and show new technologies that are used in production, about readiness to support the Start-up projects of our students. ALT and SAIMAN representatives also outlined the goals of further cooperation.
