On June 10, an ALT University delegation led by Meruert Zharmagambetova, Chairman of the Board – Rector, visited the Almaty Heavy Machine Building Plant (AHMBP), one of the largest enterprises in Kazakhstan’s machinery sector.
During the visit, the university representatives toured the plant’s production facilities, getting acquainted with the technological processes and advanced manufacturing solutions implemented on-site. For future engineers, such industrial grounds serve as the exact place where theory meets practice, and academic knowledge aligns with real-world production challenges.
This visit serves as a continuation of an ongoing partnership. As a reminder, on March 3, 2026, the executive management of AHMBP JSC paid a business visit to ALT University. During that meeting, the guests were shown the university’s classrooms, specialized laboratories, and educational infrastructure, where students acquire contemporary professional knowledge and hands-on skills.
Following the March meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between ALT University and AHMBP JSC, solidifying the mutual commitment to developing joint projects in workforce training and fostering closer ties between education and industry.
During the current meeting, the parties discussed the next practical steps toward implementing the established agreements. The discussions focused heavily on organizing student internships and practical training, involving plant specialists in the academic process, and advancing joint educational, scientific, and production initiatives.
For ALT University, collaborating with the nation’s leading industrial enterprises is a core component of its practice-oriented educational model. The university consistently expands its engagement with employers so that students can familiarize themselves with modern manufacturing environments during their studies and gain experience with technology that is highly demanded in the industry.
The visit to AHMBP marks another significant step in strengthening the partnership between academia and industry, aimed at training highly qualified engineering professionals for the economy of Kazakhstan.
