On April 17, 2026, the final stage of the “ALT Barysy – 2026” Kazakh wrestling competition among students was held at ALT University. Students competed in two weight categories: up to 75 kg and over 75 kg.
This sporting event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, popularize national sports, and increase students’ physical activity. In addition, the event aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular, SDG 3 — “Good Health and Well-being,” as it contributes to improving health through the development of sports among youth.
Kazakh wrestling is an integral part of the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people. Such competitions not only foster respect for national values but also promote friendship, mutual respect, and the spirit of fair competition among students.
The final stage was intense and exciting. Participants demonstrated their strength, skills, and determination to win, creating a vibrant sporting atmosphere for the audience.
According to the results:
- in the under 75 kg category — Danil Grichik,
- in the over 75 kg category — Yerzhigit Nurtaza
showed the best results and became the winners of the “ALT Barysy – 2026” belt.
