First-year students from the Department of Automation and Control at the Institute of Energetics and Digital Technologies completed their introductory internship at a partner enterprise — the Almaty Signaling and Communications Distance (ShCh-33).

Direct exposure to the production environment allows students to develop practice-oriented competencies, improve skills in working with modern technologies, and gain a deeper understanding of real industrial processes. This format of learning contributes to the accumulation of professional experience and the successful adaptation of future specialists to the demands of the modern labor market.

The introductory internship serves as an effective model for integrating education and industry, fostering responsibility, discipline, and the professional qualities necessary in the engineering field.

This initiative also contributes to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 12) — “Responsible Consumption and Production: building professional competencies through practice-oriented learning.”

During the event, the students were introduced to the production processes by Bakhytkul Saginbaevna Rakhmetova (Technical Documentation Engineer at ShCh-33), Esbol Aldanazaruly Turgambay (Vocational Training Instructor at ShCh-33), and Asylzat Sharapatkyzy Abugazy (Senior Lecturer of the Department of Automation and Control representing the university).
