Alumni of ALT University have once again been recognized in Forbes Kazakhstan’s “50 Most Influential Businesspeople in Kazakhstan — 2026” list.
The 16th annual TOP-50 ranking includes Dinmukhamet Idrissov and Marat Zhuman, whose professional careers are deeply tied to the development of infrastructure, transport, and industry in Kazakhstan.
When compiling the ranking, Forbes Kazakhstan evaluated not only financial and corporate performance but also civic activity, philanthropy, and overall impact on the nation’s economic development. The editorial team initially formed a longlist of over 100 prominent business figures, subsequently narrowing it down to 66 candidates based on capital volume, employee headcount, and 2025 tax contributions. The final evaluations were conducted by an expert panel comprising business leaders, industry association heads, analysts, and media executives using a weighted scoring system.
Dinmukhamet Idrissov ranked 18th in the “50 Most Influential Businesspeople in Kazakhstan — 2026” list under the “Diversified Business” category.
In 1989, he graduated from the Alma-Ata branch of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Road Construction Institute. He later earned his degree from the Kazakh State Academy of Management in 1999 and completed his doctorate in technical sciences in 2002. In 2006, he was elected an academician of the Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
His early career began in 1989 within the system of the Ministry of Highway Transport of the Kazakh SSR. Over the years, he held academic and research positions, served as Managing Director at JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy,” and established major commercial enterprises.
Today, he controls and chairs the Supervisory Board of Kazakhstan Utility Systems Holding, operating across the Mangystau, Karaganda, Turkestan, and East Kazakhstan regions. Since March 2025, the company has been listed on the Astana International Exchange (AIX). According to Forbes Kazakhstan, the company’s assets reached 516.3 billion KZT ($898 million) in 2025.
Additionally, he holds equity stakes in JSC “Ai Karaaul,” JSC “AltynEx Company,” JSC “Kundybai Mining,” and “Ordabasy Group” LLC. In 2026, he acquired the “Turan” Football Club based in the Turkestan region.

Marat Zhuman ranked 41st in the “50 Most Influential Businesspeople in Kazakhstan — 2026” list under the “Transport” category.
In 1994, Marat Zhuman enrolled in the Alma-Ata Institute of Railway Transport Engineers—one of the foundational predecessor institutions of modern ALT University.
Today, he is the founder, owner, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Atasu Group, an international transport and logistics holding operating in 30 countries. In Kazakhstan, the group manages three major multimodal logistics terminals in the Almaty and Zhetysu regions and maintains its own fleets of railcars, locomotives, and heavy cargo vehicles.
Marat Zhuman actively contributes to social and educational initiatives. He serves as President of the “Audaryspak” Federation (national horseback wrestling) and founder of the Atasu Charity Foundation, while participating in the Parasat Business Club, YPO Kazakhstan, and the IQanat educational movement.
