A meeting was held at ALT University named after Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpaev with the participation of the CEO of Алматинский завод мостовых конструкций, O.V. Tereschenko. During the meeting, the parties discussed the further development of cooperation in the areas of engineering talent training, industrial internships, and practice-oriented education.
The Almaty Bridge Construction Plant is one of the leading enterprises in the production of metal bridge structures, construction elements, and transport infrastructure facilities. Special attention was given to training highly qualified specialists required by the construction and industrial sectors.
Previously, students of ALT University completed industrial internships at the enterprise, where they became familiar with metal structure welding technologies, design processes, and quality control systems. Both sides noted the positive results of this cooperation and expressed interest in further expanding it.
During the meeting, a proposal initiated by the management of ALT University regarding the possibility of designating Алматинский завод мостовых конструкций as a base enterprise for training personnel in bridge-related specialties was also discussed. This initiative was considered in the context of developing dual education, strengthening students’ practical training, and enhancing their involvement in real production processes.
Within the framework of future cooperation, the following academic programs were identified for student placement:
- Construction of highways and airfields;
- Construction of bridges, tunnels, and subways;
- Bridge and transport interchange construction;
- Smart Underground: tunnels and subways
- Smart Roads: Digital Technologies in Transport Structures
- Logistics;
- Transport organization.
The parties also discussed the possibility of establishing joint educational and research laboratories at the university:
- Laboratory of bridge and metal structures;
- Welding technologies and metal quality control laboratory;
- Construction materials and structural testing laboratory;
- Center for dual education and engineering competencies.
Special attention was given to dual education programs, joint research projects, guest lectures and master classes by industry specialists, as well as future employment opportunities for graduates.
Such cooperation strengthens the link between education and industry, improves the quality of engineering training, and ensures that graduates acquire practical skills demanded in the labor market.
