On March 13, 2026, Mukhamejan Tynyshpayev ALT University hosted a working meeting with Ricky Salazar, Senior Director for Educational Partnerships at the University of Arizona. During the visit, the parties discussed opportunities for expanding international cooperation, developing academic exchanges, and implementing joint educational initiatives.

The University of Arizona is actively advancing global engagement by building international educational pathways, research collaborations, and partnership projects with universities and organizations worldwide. At the core of this mission is supporting student success, advancing research that shapes the future, and strengthening ties with professional and academic communities.

The university’s international activities cover a wide spectrum, including study abroad programs, support for international students, the development of a microcampus network, and collaboration with international faculty and researchers. Thanks to these initiatives, international interaction has become a vital part of the university’s educational and research experience.

In his current role, Ricky Salazar oversees the development and management of international partnerships with government agencies, private organizations, and universities across Central and Southern Asia. His portfolio includes coordinating existing microcampus projects in India and Kazakhstan, as well as developing new strategic initiatives in the region.

As part of the visit, a campus tour was organized for the guest, attended by the Chairman of the Board – Rector Meruert Zharmagambetova and the university’s senior leadership. Modern classrooms, specialized laboratories, and the upgraded campus infrastructure were showcased.

The representative from the University of Arizona learned about the key development directions of ALT University, including the digitalization of the educational environment, the advancement of research activities, and the training of highly sought-after engineering and technical specialists.

Following the visit, the parties discussed promising areas for future cooperation, including the development of international educational programs, academic mobility for students and faculty, and the implementation of joint research and educational projects. Expanding this partnership will enhance international engagement and create new opportunities for students and researchers at both universities.
