On June 16, 2025, Astana hosted the 2nd Forum on Industrial and Investment Cooperation «Central Asia – China», held as part of the state visit of President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China to Kazakhstan. The forum brought together representatives of government agencies, leading universities, research centers, and companies from both countries.
Mukhametzhan Tynyshbayev ALT University took an active part in the forum. Representing the university, President-Rector and Chair of the Board Meruyert Zharmagambetova took part in the official ceremony and signed two important documents:
- An Agreement with Urumqi Vocational University on the implementation of a dual degree program,
- Memorandum of Understanding with Shanghai SUS Environment Co., Ltd., focused on sustainable development and the introduction of clean technologies.
These agreements are aimed at strengthening international scientific and educational cooperation, enhancing academic activities, joint research, and innovation projects. The development of such partnerships reflects ALT University’s strategic commitment to the internationalization of education, participation in global initiatives such as the «Belt and Road» project, and the active integration of advanced technologies into the educational and research processes.
The signing of these documents marks a significant step in expanding ALT University’s international cooperation and reaffirms its role as a key participant in transnational educational and scientific initiatives between Kazakhstan and China.
