On September 24, 2026, ALT University hosted a seminar-workshop titled “Causes, Functions, and Forms of Suicidal Behavior: Risk Factors.” The event was organized by the university’s Office of Inclusive Education and Mental Health as part of the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: “Good Health and Well-being.”
The speakers were Rita Marinets and Asem Zhenissova, clinical psychologists from the Youth Health Center at Almaty Polyclinic No. 7. First-year students participated in the event.
During the seminar, participants learned about the signs of emotional distress, how to recognize changes in people’s emotional states and behavior, and the best ways to safely seek professional psychological help.
The final part of the session was led by psychologists Dariya Shabdenova and Nurkhan Kapar. They conducted drawing tests and projective games that helped students better understand their own emotional states, develop self-reflection skills, and learn techniques for psychological self-care.
Events like this help foster a responsible attitude toward mental health and highlight the importance of timely support—both for oneself and for others.
