On June 12, 2026, as part of developing strategic partnerships and strengthening career guidance initiatives, the executive leadership of ALT University held a meeting with Erbol Dzharullaevich Magazov, Director of the Almaty College of Transport and Communications under the Department of Education of Almaty.
The university was represented by Meruert Sovetovna Zharmagambetova, Chairman of the Board – Rector of ALT University, Shamil Askarovich Abdreshov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Andrey Alexandrovich Ivanov, Vice-Rector for Corporate and Social Development.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for further institutional cooperation, key challenges and strategies in training qualified specialists for the transport sector, and outlined joint initiatives to advance career guidance among college students.
The Almaty College of Transport and Communications stands as one of the oldest technical and vocational education institutions in the country. Its history traces back to 1930, when it was initially established to supply skilled labor for the transport and railway industries. Today, the college successfully bridges long-standing educational traditions with modern academic approaches, training in-demand professionals for the transport, communications, and technical fields.
Currently, the college has an enrollment of around 1,100 students and graduates approximately 300 young specialists annually. Academic training is provided in highly sought-after technical fields, including logistics, power supply and operation of electrical systems, maintenance of railway cars and rolling stock, locomotive operations, railway automation and telemechanics, as well as traffic management and transport organization.
Following the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further expanding this partnership and implementing joint initiatives aimed at boosting workforce training quality and broadening educational pathways for students.
